36th Anniversary of Peace Day in Chicago
Friday September 19, 2014 Noon to 1 pm
Daley Plaza, 50 West Washington Street, Chicago
Join Chicago’s remarkable tradition of coming together in support of peacebuilding in families, schools, communities, our beloved city and beyond.
A special afternoon for all ages, Peace Day includes live music, speakers, cultural performances and Minute of Silence for Peace. Chicago sends peace to the world during the Call to Peace and World Peace Flag Ceremony, a colorful procession of the world’s flags carried by members of the Chicago Consular Corps, representatives of ethnic and cultural institutions, students and volunteers. Lend your voice to the Call as everyone on the Plaza says together, “Peace in [each country]” while each flag is beautifully presented on stage. Be part of this unforgettable experience of peace!
