39th Anniversary of Peace Day in Chicago

Friday September 22, 2017

Noon to 1 pm

Daley Plaza, 50 West Washington Street, Chicago

Stand together with us on September 22nd for the observance of One Minute of Silence for Peace. Together, we’ll send peace to the world during the Call to Peace and World Peace Flag Ceremony, a moving procession of the world’s flags carried by members of the Chicago Consular Corps, representatives of ethnic and cultural institutions, students and volunteers. Lend your voice to the Call as everyone on the Plaza proclaims aloud, “Peace in [each country, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe]” while each flag is beautifully presented on stage.  Join us on Sept. 22nd and be part of this unforgettable experience of peace that will include:

  • Interactive Call to Peace & World Peace Flag Ceremony
  • Special guest speakers include Mona Noriega of Chicago Commission on Human Relations, Ann-Louise Colgan of U.S. Institute of Peace and more
  • Live music
  • Cultural performances include Serbian dance and Middle Eastern dance
